The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 by the established House (Mecca), 4 By the roof elevated. 5 and the sea that is full 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
