The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 and conveying [to all the world] a reminder: 3 surely, your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and to preserve against every rebel Satan; 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And say, "This is nothing but evident sorcery! 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 And our forefathers [as well]?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 And they will say: Ah! woe be unto us! this is the Day of Requital. 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
