۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Then, are we not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then surely they shall return to Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
