In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 In fact, the disbelievers are in false pride and opposition. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 Their leaders departed, saying, "Walk away! Hold fast to your deities. This is clearly a conspiracy. 6 We never heard of this in the former religion. It is nothing but an invention. 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or, are with them the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Bestower? 9 Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! 10 A host of deserters of the allies shall be here put to flight. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
