Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
