Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). 3 It (the Quran) exists in the original Book with Us which is certainly Most Exalted, full of wisdom and (beyond linguistic structures). 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
