Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
