The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
