Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the emissary winds, (sent) one after another 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known extent. 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
