I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
