The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 NOW AS FOR those who have attained to righteousness - what of those who have attained to righteousness? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 And extended shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
