Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 Who created death and life in order to try you to see who of you are best of deed. He is all-mighty and forgiving, 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 Almost bursting for fury. Whenever a group is cast into it, its keeper shall ask them: Did there not come to you a warner? 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: 'Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error.'" 9 They will say: "If we had listened and been wise, we would not have been among the inmates of Hell." 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 But those who fear their Lord in the Unseen, for them there is forgiveness and a great wage. 12 AND [know, O men, that] whether you keep your beliefs secret or state them openly, He has full knowledge indeed of all that is in [your] hearts. 13 How could it be that He who has created [all] should not know [all]? Yea, He alone is unfathomable [in His wisdom,] aware! 14
