Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Travailing, worn. 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions lined up 15 And linen spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
