The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
