The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
