The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 while they sat around it, 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, those who put into trial the believing men and believing women (by torturing them and burning them), and then do not turn in repentance, (to Allah), will have the torment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the burning Fire. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 and God is behind them, encompassing. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
