The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
