And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. 76 Indeed there is a portent in this for those who believe. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
