The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
