And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the soul. Say, "The soul is of the affair of my Lord. And mankind have not been given of knowledge except a little." 85 And if We listed, We could surely take away that which We have revealed unto thee; then thou wilt not find in respect thereof against Us as trustee. 86 [Thou art spared] only by thy Sustainer's grace: behold, His favour towards thee is great indeed! 87 Say: "If all mankind and all invisible beings would come together with a view to producing the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce its like even though they were to exert all their strength in aiding one another!" 88 And certainly We have explained for men in this Quran every kind of similitude, but most men do not consent to aught but denying. 89 They declare, "We will never believe in you until you cause a spring to flow for us from the earth; 90 “Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and you make gushing rivers to flow in it.” 91 or you cause the heavens to fall down on us in pieces, as you have claimed; or you bring God and the angels before us face to face; 92 Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say: Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal apostle? 93
