Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 to admonish them. We have never been unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your close relatives 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
