Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And thy movements among those who fall prostrate. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
