The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 Bethink men that they shall be left alone because they say: we believe; and that they shall not be tempted? 2 And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test). 3 Or do the evildoers think that they will outstrip Us? How evil is their judgment! 4 Whoever expects to meet Allah – then indeed the time appointed by Allah will come; and He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 5 He who strives, strives for himself. Allah is the Rich, independent of the worlds. 6 And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall repay them the best that they did. 7 We have charged the human to be kind to his parents. But if they bid you to associate with Me that which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me you will return, and I shall inform you of all that you have done. 8 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We shall indeed include them among the virtuous. 9 Among people there are some who say: “We believe in Allah.” But when such a person is made to endure suffering in Allah's cause, he reckons the persecution he suffers at the hands of people as though it is a chastisement from Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, the same person will say “We were with you.” Does Allah not know whatever is in the hearts of the people of the world? 10 Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites. 11 And those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: follow our way, and we shall surely bear your sins; whereas they shall not bear aught of their sins; verily they are the liars. 12 They will certainly carry their own burdens and other burdens besides their own. They will assuredly be called to account on the Day of Resurrection concerning the fabrications which they contrived. 13
