The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great news - 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
