The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 And so are strong in repelling (evil), 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 They cannot listen to the higher group (angels) for they are pelted from every side. 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? 16 And our forefathers? 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. 21
