And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 and We sent him forth to a nation of a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have you a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 but not so the true servants of God, 160 So you and your deities 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and we glorify God". 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn away (O Muhammad SAW) from them for a while, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
