AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 And indeed they are, to Us, among the chosen and outstanding. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Everlasting Gardens – all its gates are open for them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 Here is a boiling and an ice-cold draught, so let them taste it, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
