Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 you are not their keeper. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
