Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to bring down upon them showers of marked lumps of clayy. 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed. 42 And in the tribe of Thamud when it was told to them, “Enjoy for a while.” 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
