Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
