The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 That your companion is not confused, nor has he gone astray, 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 and taught to him 5 Of might, he (Gabriel) stood firm 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Thereafter he drew nigh, then he let himself down. 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)]. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And certainly he saw him in another descent, 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is the Garden of Abode. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have you considered El-Lat and El-'Uzza 19 And another, the third (goddess), Manat? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 Allah's is the last and the first. 25
