Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 and remember You much: 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 Saying! cast him in the ark, and cast him into the river, and the river will throw him on the bank, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him up. And I cast on thee love from Me in order that thou mayest be formed under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a book, my Lord errs not, nor does He forget; 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
