The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 You will become three categories: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for those on the Right, 38
