The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 stay away from sins 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he thought; 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 it scorches the skin; 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
