The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
