The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord they barely heed it and remain immersed in play, 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 He said: "My Lord knows whatever is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He hears all and knows everything." 4 They have said, "It, (the Quran), is only the result of some confused dreams. He is only a poet. He should show us some miracles, as the ancient Prophets had done." 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 And We sent none before thee, but men to whom We made revelation -- question the People of the Remembrance, if you do not know -- 7 We had not made them such bodies that would not eat any food nor were they immortal. 8 Then We fulfilled the promise We had made to them: We rescued them and those whom We wished, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? 10
