The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
