The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
