The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
