The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the companions of the trench 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 the Owner of the Throne, the Glorious One, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
