Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
