The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No, I swear by this country (Mecca), 1 For you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) are in this city. 2 And the parent and the offspring, 3 Verily, We have created man in toil. 4 Does he think that none has power over him! 5 He shall say: I have wasted much wealth. 6 Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 and shown him the two paths? 10 But he could not scale the steep ascent. 11 Would that you knew what Aqaba is! 12 (It is) the setting free of a slave, 13 the giving of food upon the day of hunger 14 to an orphan near of kin; 15 Or to a Miskin (poor) afflicted with misery. 16 And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion. 17 Such are the Companions of the Right Hand. 18 As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left 19 and the Fire will close in on them. 20
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
