Proof (Al-Bayyinah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters could not have left off (erring) till the clear proof came unto them, 1 A Messenger from Allah, reciting purified scriptures 2 in writings wherein are scriptures, absolutely true and unerring. 3 And those who are vouchsafed the Book divided not save after there had come unto them the evidence. 4 Yet they were ordered to worship Allah alone, making the Religion His sincerely, upright, and to establish their prayers and to pay the obligatory charity. That is indeed the Religion of Straightness. 5 Surely those who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book and the polytheists shall be in the fire of hell, abiding therein; they are the worst of men. 6 (And) lo! those who believe and do good works are the best of created beings. 7 God has a reward in store for them: Gardens of eternity, through which rivers flow; they will dwell therein forever. God is well pleased with them and they are well pleased with Him. Thus shall the God-fearing be rewarded. 8
