The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 They indeed hoped not for a reckoning, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
