The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nigh unto men has drawn their reckoning, while they in heedlessness are yet turning away; 1 No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play 2 With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad SAW) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?" 3 He says: 'My Lord knows what is said in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.' 4 Yet they say: "These are only confused dreams," or rather: "He has invented them;" or: "He is only a poet. Let him therefore bring a miracle to us as the earlier (apostles) were sent with." 5 Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? 6 The messengers that We had sent before you were only men to whom We had given revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 We gave them not bodies that would not eat food, nor were they immortals. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
