Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
