And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 And you cannot escape in the earth; and you have neither a friend nor any supporter against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships sailing on the sea, like hills. 32 If He willeth He causeth the wind to cease so that they keep still on the back thereof; verily therein are signs for every patient, grateful person. 33 He may, while forgiving much of the sins of those that ride these ships, drown them on account of some of their misdeeds. 34 Then those who wrangle about Our Signs will come to know that there is no escape for them. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive. 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 Those who successfully defend themselves after being wronged will not be questioned. 41 The blame is only against those who wrong people, and are wrongfully insolent in the earth, for them there is a painful punishment. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
