The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except those that believe, and do righteous deeds -- theirs shall be a wage unfailing. 25
