The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 "And when ye exert your strong hand, do ye do it like men of absolute power? 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord? He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
