The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
